Founding

New Families are founded in the Ki-Rin, Phoenix, and Crab.

The nomadic tribe, Daughters of the Plains, approach the Ki-Rin and seek an audience with Lady Shinjo. Their leaders, Utako and Ide, spoke with Shinjo in private and shortly after the two along with the rest of their tribe were welcomed into the Ki-Rin clan with open arms. The Daughters of the Plains renamed themselves Utaku, in honor of their leader Utako that had led them to Shinjo, and they would become the Utaku family.    Many would notice later that Shinjo was often in the company of Utako, Ide, or both, as they became some of the closest and dearest friend of the swift Kami.   Among the Phoenix, there was little surprise when Shiba announced that he wished for Asako to take her place as a leader in the clan, as the head of the Asako Family. The woman had impressed many with her keen intellect and wisdom, and as news of other Families being started in other clans, many figured it was only a matter of time before Asako was similarly blessed with such an appointment.   In the south, two followers of Hida, Hiruma and Kuni, unite forces to slay a terrible beast that has been plaguing the southern lands. They approach Kaiu and he crafts a sword for Hiruma to wield, which Kuni enchants with her sacred prayers. Through this combined effort, they fought the creature and vanquished it. Hida was impressed by not only their deeds, but by their cleverness of working together, and so he gave Hiruma and Kuni permission to found Families to lead in the Crab Clan alongside Kaiu.
