Bound Geist
Anatomy
Bound geists are spirits who are permanently bound to a physical item that serves as their body. The bind of their soul fully permeates the item, just as it would for the body of most races. Should a bound geist be damaged, they will still feel pain, and will generally not be able to regenerate on their own. Repairs to the item combined with life magic to guide the bind back into the new material can be used to heal the spirit. Bound geists of magical items often have additional abilities due to assimilating the magic of the host item.
Racial Abilities
Bound geists use magic in order to move their bodies, and as such will often grow in physical ability as their magical power increases. There primary sense is that of the ability to sense mana, though their racial magics often allow them to emulate sight and hearing, as well as touch, and the ability to communicate vocally. Bound geists are very often nearsighted, but can see from any part of their body's surface should they focus on doing it, otherwise defaulting to seeing from whichever part they personally identify as being their face-equivalent.
Whereas other spirits are very susceptible to damage from raw mana, bound geists are less susceptible due to their far more stable body. As a bound geist grows in magical power, their host item will begin to corrupt to better suit the power they wield. Powerful bound geists are able to use an ability often called phantasmal reach, allowing them to use their magic to generate mana-construct limbs from the surface of their bodies; highly skilled bound geists are often able to use this ability to reattach their recently-severed body parts, or retaining control of such body parts by using the phantasmal reach as a tether to keep the bind of their soul from snapping away.
