The Tiger Federation
A confederation of warrior clans that form a council that rules the realm. The heads of each clan choose a representative to head their clan. Once per generation all of the clans and any willing warrior participate in a grand tournament to find a leader for the council. If an outside warrior wins then they may form their own house and become an advisory member of the council.

Capital
The capital city Shendang, seat of the council. All clans have their own ancestral lands but keep a presence in the capital at all times. An urban hub with a comparatively small military presence. A neutral zone to all the houses, with only a selection of personal guard allowed to each house and a local garrison for defense against brigands and heavens forbid foreign invaders.Domestic Clans/Factions
The Lion Clan
A minor holding that came to prominence in the 1200s AG. They were a mercenary family that assisted in border disputes with the horse clan as well as foreign conflicts across the continent. Their patriarch Zhang Liang was invited into the council tournament due to the fact that the current Red Tiger wanted to test his strength against him and saw the tournament as the greatest venue to do so. What he did not foresee was Liang besting the council and all warriors in the tournament marking the first time an outsider won the tournament. Since the 5 clans did not want to ascend the mercenary family to a council position. The runner up was crowned council chair and Liang and his descendants were given an advisory role to the council as well. Currently their leader Zhang Tao is married to the leader of the Yellow Tiger’s and he serves as her top general and confidant as well as her liaison and chief diplomat. The Shen Family
A wealthy merchant family that is instrumental in all trade arrangements between the council and foreign leaders. They operate out of Shanhu and have married throughout the royal families. Their head Shen Lang is currently married to the Black Tiger and together they have made many lucrative trade deals to continue the growth of the Tiger Clan’s military.Culture
The Tiger Clan is a very noble culture, believing in fairness and equality with strength and ability being the deciding factors of status. There is a strong focus on the duty of the strong being to protect the weak and teaching others to defend themselves as a means of proliferating strength is crucial in forming a strong nation.
There are five great houses that make up the Tiger clan who were the children of the first Tiger emperor.
