Land of Wisdom, Rabbit Kingdom
The Rabbit Clan are gifted astronomers, and their ruler is selected by augury rather than inheritance. There is a divide between those who live in the mountains and those that live below in the low lands. Those that live in the low lands are concentrated in villages along the coasts of the bay and island, and along the southern border. Multiple cities are situated along the mountains, each of which are known to be stops on the pilgrimage between the Palaces of Sun and Moon. This leaves a lot of open wilderness in the low lands.
Map
Capital
Yuegong is divided into four tiers, plus a fifth tier which is the Palace of the Moon and its surrounding gardens. The tiers are concentric circles, with the inner circles being higher than the outer circles. Some nickname the city the cake city because of its layout. The city uses the height difference between its tiers for a defensive advantage, as each tier has its own wall, and several gatehouses with defensible stairways. The geometry of the city was carved directly out of the mountain, one tier at a time.Domestic Clans/Factions
The Auspicious Scholars
A faction of astrologers, mages, and scribes who live and work in the Palace of the Moon. Their most important duty is to read the signs to predict the birth of each new King Under The Moon. They are the original founders of Yuegong, and have been an important part of the city for its entire existence. One of their most outspoken opinions is their distaste for the pursuit of immortality. Decrying all who seek it and ousting all who attempt to hide their intentions for it to all of Sheng Xiao. The Roadguard
An independent order of mercenary knights based out of Shansheng. Founded in 1140 AG, the Roadguard respond harshly to banditry upon the Pilgrim's Line. Their funding comes partially from donations by travelers, and partially from wealthy parties hiring them as protection. They are a combination of Rabbit and Goat clan members along with members of the Golden Monks. One of their major strengths comes from having their own Dai wyverns found in the mountains different to any you would find in the islands of the Land of Scales.Culture
The Rabbit Clan have a strong spiritual devotion which can be seen in their craftsmanship being heavly influenced by the stars. They have a tradition of art, particularly in sulptures which can be seen in the intricate works in the mountain cities, especially those in Shansheng. Their beliefs are rooted in the teachings and wisdom of the Auspicious Scholars that guide the kingdoms future, reaching to shores of the Low Lands.
Those in the Low Lands live simpler lives and work hard to make it by. While the experiences of the two groups in the kingdom differ their spiritual devotion runs strong and both are bound together by stary sky they share.
Military
The military of the Rabbit clan is composed of primarily spearmen, archers and exprt mages. While the number of mages do not reach close to that of the rooster clan they do match the skill of even their most advanced fighters. The tactics of the Rabbit Clan are widely praised for taking advantage of very risky manevaurs and finding ways to work them in their favour. Many attribute this to their skills in augury and ability to access battlefields. Especially that of their Kings who are known to be able to find the smallest possibility for success and seize it.
The Road Guard act as an independant force the Rabbit Clan has been known to hire in the past and sees them gain access to flyers in the form of Wyverns. While not loyal the relationship they have is good enough to not see them turn against the Rabbit Clan for offers given by their enemies.
Isolation makes Rabbit clan more comfortable in the defence of their homeland then on the offensive. Rarely has it been seen marching on other kingdoms.
