The Rooster clan have an emperor who presides over a centralized bureaucratic government that values highly educated officials and individuals with high magical prowess. The emperor's line has strong magic and the one with the most prowess will become the leader.

Capital

Fenglù is the oldest city in the Rooster's territory that was originally founded by members of the Vermillion Bird Clan and dates back long before the Golden Emperor. Many temples, statues and buildings are still present from the time of founding of the city and are well kept by the clan. The city is a mix of old and new architecture weaved together

Domestic Clans/Factions

Crane

The Crane Clan are tasked with the defence of the border of the Rooster Clan. Their home is in the Crane Forest which is hidden from outsiders. The mix magic and martial techniques to achieve deadly techinques enhanced by the natural magic found within Rooster Clan that have helped to keep the borders safe since before the time of the Golden Emperor. They wear stark white outfits from head to toe that cover all of them.
Those who are found with their throats ripped out within the Crane forest can be safely attributed to the Crane Clan.

Seal

Fishermen who have been in the Vermillion Coast dating back to when they Vermillion Bird Clan controlled it. They specialise in hunting the Yú wyvern that come from the Hon and are highly regarded for the service they provide outside of the norms of the Rooster clan. Members are given scholarships to attend higher to education to gain high positions later in life once their bodies have tired from the work.

Butterfly

The Butterfly clan is used to refer to those whose blood has been tainted in some way. It dates back to the Era before Gold when human experimentation was still done within the Rooster Clan. Many still have long standing health issues because of this and the government works to assist them in their lives because of the past transgressions of the clan. Some people in modern times end up in the clan after their parents have performed their own experimentations on themselves which has caused issues for their offspring. Others are the unfortunate tools of outlawed experimentation done by criminal mages.

Culture

The rooster clan are a proud people who believe that progress can only be found in the pursuit of knowledge and understand the world around them. They tend to look down on those who are uneducated. All citizens are required to undertake mandatory education until they reach adulthood. At which point they must find their own way in the world and the government will stop providing for them. Many seek higher education to increase what government positions are available to them.
Those who have the talent for magic will lean towards moving to Fengchi and the attending one of the institutes of magic to further their skills. Anyone who can wield magic is thought of in higher regards then those who cannot and will be able to get higher positions within the government.

Military

For their size the Rooster clan has a very large standing army considering the size of their nation. This is caused by mandatory military service for all citizens including the royal family. A majority of their forces is made up of mages supplemented by soldiers and beasts. They employ many creatures bred for battle and general use purposes to make up for what physical strength they otherwise lack.
They have a special means of sending and using a bird they've created called the Crimson hawk. The speed they are able to receive and send information thanks to this bird has seen them be a serious threat on the battlefield. Many other nations have attempted to use similar methods with other birds however these Crimson hawks have been released across the realm and bred to hunt down other message carrying birds.
The military uniforms used by the roosters are a combination of blue, red and gold.
