Land of Divinity, Rat Kingdom
Rat Clan is a theocracy that worships the local divine dragon that lives in the Kingdom. The grand priests that control the country are seemingly immortal beings that are related to that dragon.

Capital
Sapaieon City is the capital of the rat country and the centrepoint of the Divine Dragon religion. Built into the mountain, the city is both carved into the side of it, and burrowed deep inside it.Domestic Clans/Factions
Capybara Clan
Originally formed after the war with the dragon clan, the Capybara clan cemented their identity as a unique clan separate from the rats in a dispute over the gold islands a century later. Currently they run the Gold Islands as an independent state in rat territory.Marmot Clan
Originally formed by ambitious hunters traveling the mountains early in the Rat Clan’s territory, their presence as a separate group developed naturally due to the isolation the hunters had from the rest of the country. Because the mountains are only safely traversable back and forth during the peak of summer, they ended up developing their own culture and mannerisms as a result.Mouse Clan
A dwindling group of heretical priests and soldiers that sought to dethrone the Divine Dragon. Originally these people were a part secret organisation that worked under the jurisdiction of the head priestess Azurite. However with her passing, they were subsequently ousted from the church and branded as criminals. What few Mouse Clan members still exist today are often characterized by the bounties placed on their heads, either being too clever or too quick on their feet to be caught.Culture
The culture of the clan is heavily defined by the religion of the divine dragon, which encourages the accumulation of wealth in both skill and material goods. Being incredibly rich or skilled in opens most doors within the capital as it’s assumed that anyone that has those things is blessed by the divine dragon. To be adept at something is considered holy.
Jewelry is a very important part of rat culture as a whole, but is taken to an extreme within the city walls. Jewelry isn’t just a display of wealth, but also of relationships, your career, and a form of individuality. The exchange of earrings is a part of wedding ceremonies to show the bride and the groom’s connection to one another. Rings are used to show the person’s craft, using the color and shape to signify what the wearer does. Other forms of jewelry are still common, but they don’t carry the same connotations as earrings and rings.
Those that can’t carry that elevated idealized renaissance man image are shunned and cast out to live in the smaller villagers. Differently abled children are considered burdens and it’s a unique thing to see one make it into adulthood. While abled people often prepare for their older years, fearing the isolation, neglect, and pain of becoming one of the elderly. Acceptance comes with the caveat that you’re useful, to be useless is to be damned.
Military
The forces of the Rat clan are known for their small elite force dedicated to the church made up almost exclusively of descendants of the Divine Dragon. They are equipped with magical tools and artifacts that give them power equivalent to armies.
The other part of the Rat clans force is made up of loyal citizens who can be relied on to join when the Divine Dragon gives the degree as soldiers. For what they lack in experience they make up in what could be described as fanatical devotion.
