Land of Bristles, Boar Kingdom

The Boar clan have a spotted history beginning as nomadic hunter gathers before eventually settling down and becoming expansionist warlords. With the turn of the last decade they've changed again and have become Cultivators. Their worship includes the study of martial arts, grasping the Dao, magical potions or spirit stones and many other forms of cultivation which has been brought over from the Goat Clan and many monasteries across the Great Dividing Range.

Capital

A rich valley that’s nestled between two smaller mountain ranges with rivers branching to form around the border of the city of Red Tusk. Temperate forests surround the outskirts of the city and are rich with wildlife. It is the historic hunting grounds of the royal family. Thought to be blessed by the frequent sightings of qilin (kirin) that are said to inhabit the region.
The City design is to fit with the natural surroundings of the valleys. The city’s footprint reflects the river patterns and mountain ranges. At first glance are the Red Granite city walls and stone stairs cut into the cliffside.
The palace is set in the back portion of the city, with the main doors engraved with two gold Quilin in nods to the legend that areflanked by two bronze boar statues on either side. It has a large courtyard with lotus gardens welcoming guests.
Most of the population are Boar clan however there are dignitaries from key political relationships and trades from lesser tribes. Many shop fronts dot the streets with housing above them in lower/middle class areas. They are home to many boar craftsmen and artisans. The more affluent areas are closer to the palace and homes are free standing with gardens.

Domestic Clans/Factions

Deer clan

The clan originated from the Horse Clan members that joined the Boar on their exodus East in the 1200’s AG. They are a matriarchy of fickle explorers who found the prospect discovering new fauna who tend to be petite and are generally vegetarian. The clan composes the only flying faction of the Boar army, Pegasus knights, as main clans prefer grounded units. Those who learn to ride pegasus and are non-military members work as couriers.

Otter clan

The clan is comprised of fishermen/Island first nation people that have been part of the Boar clan since the beginning of the 1500 AGs, when Red Tusk was established and scouting parties ventured along the coast and discovered the Otter clans. They had some minor skirmishes eventually coming to an agreement where the Otter clan reigned over the Islands without intrusion but joined the Boar council with Deer and other minor clans. The Boar would manage trade with the main continent and act as a barrier between the outside clans and Twin Star Isles. The trade in Pearls, Urchin, Fish, Coral, Seaweed and Kelp.

Culture

The Boar clan have their origin in a patriarchal society of hunter-gatherers who have turned militaristic since the founding of Red Tusk. Thier strong family bond from their early days have continued and transformed into a brother-in-arms kinship within their military. They hold strong beliefs in the old ways of balance with nature and the ill omens as taught by the Auspicious Beasts and the four great clans, especially the Black Tortoise. To this day they still carry on these traditions and retell them through song and dance.
They wear deep reds and purples with stone grays and golds used as well. Most people will wear Hanfus and traditional burmese dresses.

Military

The Boar Clan's military prides themselves on their use of archery, polearms and cavalry. They boast a unique cavalry that uses giant boars instead of horses which are much better in rough terrain and in forests. Although they lack a strong navy they make up for it by being one of the few powers with a flying units. Women server in the military however they are limited to certain roles. They can be dancers, mages or pegasus knights but nothing else.
The military uniform is primiarly deep reds and black with purple accessories and accents.
