Montilyet |Family|

Structure

The Montilyet family does not have a strict hierarchy. The parents are the leaders of their family. Typically they pick the oldest child, no matter the sex though there is a preference for sons, as the heir. The heir is sent to boarding school in foreign countries to gain allies, world experience, and knowledge to better aid the family. The heir then returns home and begins to handle the household affairs at around the age of 18 to 20 years old.

Assets

The Montilyet family's main source of revenue and wealth was their vineyard and winery. For generations, they have crafted the best wine in the world and profited handsomely from it. Their secondary source of revenue comes from participating in Antiva City's trading businesses. Though they are not as prominent as other families in the trading and shipping business, their family was originally the most involved in trading until their reputation was sullied after a failed betrothal in Orlais.

The Montilyet family owns over 20,000 acres of vineyard, the most for any single family, and the largest contiguous vineyard at 5,000 acres. They also own the second-largest winery and the most expensive winery worldwide.

After the marriage between Merci Daddario and Josephine Montilyet, the family was able to recover their lost status in Orlais and gained new allies across the world. With their new-found wealth and status, by marrying into the Dragon family of legend, they should have been offered the head seat in the Council of Antiva, but the current council members denied them due to the potential conflict of interests between Spain and Dovahnor.

With their new wealth, the Montilyets were able to build a new, personal, naval fleet and a new commerce fleet to boost their trading status worldwide.
