{CC} 9.06 Northern Lights

The Book Club discover that a missing tome, “The Book of Gates Past”, has been stolen. Witnesses to the crime lead the club to believe that this was related to the jewel robbery not too long ago. Fearing its use by mundanes John, Mori and Astrid hack into the DesCha Repository database and delete the system’s only digital copy. Later, they are asked by Polaris to take care of an arms smuggling ring hiding away in the mountainous region of DesCha North. While T-Swizzle takes care of the boss, John chooses expedience and blows up the whole compound, as well as the container ship housing the arms. The oil and assorted chemical spills cause a small environmental disaster on the reef up top, but they stop the arms smugglers in their tracks.
Meanwhile, Benjamin and Lanford discover a letter for John (addressed to one ‘IG’) from a mysterious sender going by the name of ‘TA’. The letter details how they had stolen and destroyed the Book of Gates Past as a stopgap measure, and invites John to coffee at a certain time…
