The Fallen Blade
It was a dark moment, an unspeakable betrayal without equal. And from a Goddess nonetheless, one of those on our side. To this day one can see the blade, fallen in the middle of the lake, which of course was named after the Titan Ainthia. Due the Titan's nature possibly, life has moved on and an island has been raised around the blade, an untouched piece of wild nature. It remains there to remind us of those who have fallen so that life can continue, making the ultimate sacrifice.
Purpose / Function
The Fallen Blade is a reminder of an era long forgotten. An era where creatures like the magnificent Titans were in existence and were protecting the world of Aell.
It's purpose now is to stand as a diving point for the ritual of the Seeking, a tradition held by the Rainsmiths in the kingdom of Ekezathage.
History
During the Irruption Wars, the goddess Ashionis outfitted the eight Titans of Aell with weapons. They fought against the invaders and turned the battle to the favor of the Aellirians. However, betrayed by the Goddess Qreena, the Titans were poisoned and one by one fell where they stood, turning to stone and dust. This betrayal almost cost Aell the war.
One of them, Ainthia, the Wooden Titan, fell on top of the Blytheraine Rise, which was a series of mountains at the time creating a crater. Her sword, a blade of gargantuan proportions came crashing down with her and it still stands in middle of Lake Ainthia that has been since emerged around it, from the Titan's blood according to some. It is now a relic of the past, protected by those who live in the kingdom of Ekezathage.
