Jocasta

A curious city of merchants and quite the underdog story really. Jocasta used to be pretty run down until Blackwoods a peculiar human family with a dark elf son. They had put in a lot of work opening up their general store. They became a staple of community care. They would never fuss over a few silvers here or there as long as everyone was taken care of. A trait they passed down to their adoptive son Kalus. Who after his parents passed on took to greater matters and ran for a senatorial position and won it handedly. The city of Jocasta is proud of their senator and he them as well.
Walking through Jocasta is interesting experience. Despite it's size the further in one gets the smaller the city feels. At its heart is the small town it started out as all those years ago. As more and more people came to Jocasta it grew outward from all sides to fit its needs. In turn the city center is arguably the smallest part. Even the same store Kalus' parents started is still standing. Though it is under new management they do keep the spirit of the original. With the seemingly rapid expansion to larger buildings there have been small scale protests to go back to the wat Jocasta was before.
Proud is a word that can be used to describe the people of Jocasta. Sometimes they're too proud though: in that old ways are the best ways type of deal. Though most the people aren't quite like that in their opinions.  There is a pretty vocal minority that will tend to parrot these issues but for the most part they are ignored.  The main basis of Jocasta are very kind and industrious.  Most would rather stand to lose money helping their fellow man than to see them suffer.
