Aarakocra (aka Birdfolk)

Alignment

Most are good, they rarely pick a side between law and chaos.

Personality

Those that make it to a world in the Material Plane find it a strange place. They sometimes forget or ignore vertical distances, and they have nothing but pity for those earthbound people forced to live and toil on the ground.   They struggle to understand the concept of ownership, even when it's explained to them.   They naturally like shiny things, some of them impulsively snatch treasure - although this habit can be unleared through socialisation.

Genetics and Reproduction

They lay eggs.

Growth Rate & Stages

Ecology and Habitats

They are most comfortable in the sky. They can spend hours in the air, and some go as long as days, locking their wings in place and letting thermals hold them aloft. On their native planes they can fly for days or even months. Once airborn they are reluctant to get back down.   They are terrified of confinement.   Most live on the Elemental Plane of Air, but can be drawn into the Material Plane, sometimes deliberately eg to pursue enemies, sometimes by accident.   Tribes normally establish shared hunting territories up to 100 miles.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Fastidious about their plumage, frequently tending to their feathers, cleaning and scratching away tiny passengers they might have picked up.   They eat fish.   Some of them (but not all) punctuate their speech with bird noises to convey expression. They can get frustrated with people who fail to pick up on the meaning.
