The Far Realm

This outer plane is extremely far removed from all other planes of existence. It is older than all the other planes, and the Elder Gods that reside there are older than any other known entities. The other pantheons of gods throughout all other planes all know of its existence, but precious few know any details about it. They have rumors that The Far Realm is actually not part of our own universe, but a remnant of the universe that existed before our own, and they somehow survived the collapse. Another rumor is The Far Realm is actually the edge of a completely different universe that is slowly encroaching When stepping into the Far Realm it would appear that the party is standing on invisible flat ground in the middle of deep space. The only visible light is starlight from every possible direction, and occasional luminous gas clouds. It seems like you should be floating in space, but you are walking on what feels like solid ground. Composed of an infinite amount of layers stacked on one another in what appears to be a spherical shape to the party members due to us being 3 dimensional beings - it would look something like the layers of a jawbreaker that stretch out into infinity. You could enter the next layer from any direction. However, your mind will not allow your body to move “ straight down.” This is purely a mental block of 3 dimensional beings, as native beings of the Far Realm are able to move in any direction they choose. Moving from one layer to the next requires “swimming” through the void, and into the next layer. Some of these layers have impossible physics, or reality warping features, and some do not. Some of the layers may have buildings, or other recognizable features that the party is familiar with from the Prime Material plane. These buildings/features may just be the mind making sense of the unfathomable, or in some cases these features might actually be things that have been sucked into the Far Realm from other planes, and this is just where they end up.
