It's origin is unknown, but theories swirl around this sword just like the light it drinks in. The most widely held belief is that it was created by Maglubiyet, the goblin god of might and war, Lord of Battles, and Lord of Depths & Darkness. It is said that after he created the blade, he plunged it into the heart of darkness itself. Thus, Lightbringer was born.
As a bonus action, this weapon can absorb all light in a 60 ft sphere. The sword appears as pure black, as it consumes all light in the sphere. This weapon also has the ability to create a sphere of darkness if the roll to hit is 17 or higher on an attack roll (before any modifiers), in addition to the damage dealt. The sphere originates from the creature/item that was hit, and follows the Darkness spell rules. Effectively - you hit something so hard that the blade consumes all light and prevents light from entering during this time.
