Destroyed & Corrupted Village

Approaching a small village, the party can smell smoke and ash in the air as they approach. The air becomes harder and harder to breathe, and the sky begins to darken as they get closer to the burned village. They see The Yellow Sign on some buildings with the phrase "Have you seen the yellow sign?" sloppily written underneath it. They see burned houses & barns, blood trails on the ground, and all vegetation has withered away and/or rotted. They can smell a mixture of death, smoke, and ozone in the air but it is eerily quiet - not a single sound from any animal or insect. The village is now complete devoid of all life.
As they explore and approach the center of town they are greeted with a disturbing display of corpses carefully placed in a pattern on the ground. As they look up, they see an array of body parts delicately floating and drifting together in the air. As they look closer, they see that the body parts in the air form a large triangle with a spiral in the center.
At the center of the village square lies a water well that now has aberrant vine creeping out of it. Depending on the perception checks/investigation checks they might see that the vines shift & move every so often. If one of the party members gets close enough to touch, they will be grabbed by the vines, and begin to be pulled into the well.
