Alessi Woodbracer

Alessi, and his best friend Oloro (Druid), were once part of an adventuring party. After some successful ventures Oloro received word from a member of his Druid circle that there was something wrong in their forest in The Great Wild Wood. Parts of the forest were dying, and becoming barren. Animals have begun to start acting strange, and now some forest dwellers have even begun to go missing. No pleading was needed to get the group to return to Oloro’s forest and help him save his home, and forest. They found what they believed to be the epicenter of this corruption; a cave that no one including Oloro remembers existing before. They entered, and attempted to eliminate any threat in the cave. After battling all manner of fauna that Oloro had once known to be peaceful but have since been corrupted into violent, mindless attackers, they came across the source; a Mind Flayer from the Underdark.   After an intense bout of initial combat, the group was able to lure the Mind Flayer out of the cave, and managed to get it surrounded. The Mind Flayer in a panic flailed about and managed to grab ahold of Oloro, and devour his mind causing instant death.   The group quickly dispatched the Mind Flayer while Oloro was grappled, but unfortunately were unable to save their friend. Devastated, Alessi tried every spell he could muster to resurrect his friend. Desperate to save his friend, he begged his god, and cursed the mind flayer in every language he knew. He slammed diamond after diamond into his friend’s chest, each of them shattering and covering the area in a fine dust of sparkling diamonds. He unleashed every healing spell with such a fury that the ground itself began to rapidly sprout all manner of plant life which enveloped Oloro, and enclosed the cave entrance. To this day this area of the forest is unnaturally dense, and has a thin mist of diamond dust suspended in the air, catching the light and sparkling with unnatural beauty. At the center of this dense area, the body of Oloro remains, perfectly preserved from the failed healing spells, and serving as a sort of statue guardian of the cave entrance.
