Vyre Society

"When I entered the throne room, my captors kneeled before the lord on the throne. it was a moment of terror, but even stronger was my sense of dread, when I saw the lord on the throne kneel to the lady who had captured my legion..."
-Hisildor, surviver of a Vampyr capture
Vampyr society values one thing above all else. strength. but how they organize this rank, is a matter deserving of some exploration, so lets bite into the world of the blood sucking aberritions from a realm of eternal night.

Titles and Terminology

The titles and terms of the vampire society are worth remembering for any who wish to dive into their struggle of a political environment, to list them:

Clan

Clans can be best described as the family lines of the vampires, one might even liken them to the elves and their subraces, albeit in a much more sinister manner. there are four major clans of note:
Clan Steel, Made up of warlords and fighters, they bring some of the finest "knights" of the vampire world to the battlefield, and often lead Hunt Squads to raids
Clan Gold, Made from manipulators, seducters and schemers. these vampires remain for the purpose of exploring the depths of mortals, and find a sadistic pleasure in exploiting them.
clan Crimson, Originators of the Blood magics, this clan are the sorcerers of the vampires, the manipulators of flesh and the ones who tend to the flow of ruby roads to feed the high ranks of lords.
Clan Null, Unsettling creatures even by vampire standards, Clan Null gazes into the void, using it for their own purposes, manipulating it and taming the emptiness with a disturbing proficiency.
each of these clans have slightly different powers granted to them by their ascension to becoming Vyre, though all can learn each others disciplines.

Vampyr Lord

The title of Vampyr Lord, is one with high respect attached to it, not many hold it, in fact, most commonly its held by three (or five?) members of each major clan, and potentially a few more isolated individuals across the realm of the vampires. these Lords and Ladies are often progenitors of clan bloodlines, though it's worthy of note that they don't have to be full-on clan progenitors.

Sire

The one who makes another Vampire, is called this new creatures Sire. though it is not offten used when talking of Juveniles, where the terms "Master" and "Spawn" is more often used. A Sire is responsible for a Neophytes action, as well as those of Juveniles, though the blood bond that a Juvenile is forced into means this seldom is an issue in any way.

Common Etiquette rules

Showing Respect

there are a variety of ways to show ones superior respect, here they are in order of least to most showing of subservience. it's worth noting, that the weak one is expected to talk first, lest they have been given orders not to.

Honorific Title

saying something such as "My liege" or "High Mage" this is often done between those who share clan when meeting someone who is higher ranked.

Hand Gesure

Placing one's hand with the palm between the collarbones, if one is a servant for giving of blood they may be allowed to use this greeting, though they then must also tilt their head to the side (the amount varies from lord to lord) to show why they are given this honor. else this is a gesture offten done by a Vyre of roughly equal standing, particularly when entering another's domain. (offten in a combination of an honorific title)

Bowing ones head

to lower ones head, is a gesture of something that can likened to trust, it is a sign that the one before the bowing individual could remove their head should they so wish, something that is not unheard of when this gesture is done inappropriately, such as by someone who is meant to make a lower gesture. the motion is offten done by a Vyre to their Sire with acknowledgment of the relationship between the two uttered.

Kneeling (1)

Getting on one knee, placing their fist on the ground before them and lowering their head, a Vyre shows upmost respect to whomever they are adressing. this is offten done by Vyre to those who are three or sometimes two generations above them, so as to be able to be the Sire of the Vyres own Sire, or one step above again. it is also how a Neophyte is expected to greet a Vyre lest the cicumstances dictates otherwise.

Kneeling (2)

A worrior may choose to do this to their lord, though its excedingly rare outside of clan steel. the gesture consists of the Vyre getting on both knees, bowing their head and present their weapon to the one they appear before. it is accepted, that if the Vyre they do this towards perceive any sign of cowardice in the presenting Vyre, they are to use their own weapon to deal their destruction.

Submitting

This is not so much a sign of respect as it is fully showing to put your life in the hands of your superior, this gesture consists of the presenting Vampire going on both knees and either put their head to the ground, or hold out both arms and, if they are a Vyre, their wings streach out but relaxed. this is to allow whatever judgment befalls them to come to them.

A few random creations

"Walk with me, for I am your savior.
Kneel before me, for I am your god.
Offer up your blood, to earn salvation."

"Do not fret, your angel is here.
Do not hunger, for I bring a feast.
Do not thirst, you shall drink well.
Do not wonder, for my words are true."
