Kyrah

Trickster Goddess of Music and Poetry

"I'm told that thousands of songs have been written about me, and bards everywhere pay homage at my shrines. They even call me the Muse. But if that's the case, then why does no one ever seem to want to read my poetry?" - Kyrah, Goddess of Music
As one of the Five Gods, Kyrah is revered as the trickster of music and poetry. There are very few shrines to her, but bards and poets call upon her for inspiration as "the Muse". She is the swiftest of all the gods, both in thought and deed. She is capable of disappearing in the blink of an eye, and she can travel great distances with mere steps. Her mind is equally swift. Her voice is said to be more beautiful than any instrument.   Kyrah regularly travels throughout the Heartlands in the guise of an adventurous bard. She carries dozens of scroll-cases with her, most of which contain terrible poems of her own composition. She can write good ones, but she prefers the bad ones, because she is amused by people's reactions to them. No matter how harsh the critique, she never holds grudges against critics. She serves as the court poet to the Queen of Mytros, her sister Vallus. Vallus finds Kyrah annoying, and she finds any excuse to send her away on errands.

History.

The Heroes of the Prophecy.

Kyrah first met with the Heroes of the Prophecy at The Sour Vintage prior to their journey beginning. She initially hid her immortal guise from them by pretending to be a humble travelling poet. While she did not necessarily hid it from them, she didn't reveal it either until they met some of her family. Kyrah acted as a introductory guide for the Heroes, as she directed them to the Temple of the Oracle and helped them travel to Estoria.

The Children of the Oldwoods.

When the Heroes began the first task of their Great Labours Kyrah travelled with them. However, she took on a backseat role, content on watching and recording the Heroes completing their Great Labours. This culminated in her parting ways with the Heroes after they found some kidnapped children. Kyrah took it on herself to help the children, protecting them and returning to Estoria. After the Heroes returned from The Mossy Temple, Kyrah was satisfied in their capability and left them to complete the remaining labours on their own. She returned to Mytros soon after, to meet with her sister Vallus to discuss future concerns.

The Storm above Mytros.

Kyrah was present at the meeting to discuss the storm crisis plaguing Mytros. Kyrah was ready to sacrifice some of her power to stave off Sydon, however the Heroes, who arrived late, agreed to sacrifice the artifacts of The Old Dragonlords in exchange for the cities safety. Kyrah was equally paramount in saving more children from the secret cult of Lutheria who was operating out of the temple in Mytros .

The Odyssey.

Kyrah was one of the many who offered the Heroes her services when it came time for them to commence their odyssey. She has remained as a symbol of hope on board the Ultros, as she readily provideds entertainment in the form of music and poetry. Whilst she hasn't taken a direct role in the odyssey, she has also helped provide information on tales and lore relevant to the journey and locations. Equally, she is documenting the entire journey, both bad and good, so she can share the story with the future generations, that she hopes will be around thanks to the Heroes.
