Court of Daggers
The Court of Daggers are the leaders of The Nation of Konsearna, the creators of the Fey, and an incredibly powerful group. It is unknown where they came from, or how they rose to power. The first spotting of a Fey was 34 AG, but it was only a few years later that the Court made themselves publicly known. As they declared the official nation of Konsearna, they declared their opposition towards the other races.
The Court of Daggers is responsible for the creation of Fey. Little is known of the process, but all Fey have a vague knowledge of the Womb, the "mother" of all Fey. As a marking of their loyalty, all Fey are created with a crown or a halo symbolizing the Court of Daggers. It's a jagged circle with a symbol for the Axe, Sword, and Sickle. The Court oversee this process, and manage the sorting of younglings. Later on in their creation's lives, they greet every citizen through the Sword as part of the adulthood transition. For most common Fey, this is the only time they meet face-to-face with one of the leaders.
The only other Fey to have a connection to the Court are the Fabled and Palace Guard, the chosen of the Court. Fabled are recognized artisans and artists who have earned a position of power through sheer skill. These command land in the Thicket, and help govern (although with no help from the Court). The Palace Guard are chosen warriors, meant to defend The Palace (the home seat of the Court) and the Court themselves should they ever be placed in direct danger.
They watch over the Fey through constant hidden surveillance. While no clear public presence, they seemingly hear and see everything that Fey do. As such, there is a modicum of fear surrounding the Court within the commoner's perception. According to Konsearnan law, it is forbidden to speak of the Court without reason and punishable by death for speaking ill of the Court of Daggers or Konsearna. This has led to numerous names to sidestep notice and the law, with the most common one being Sirun.
Structure
The Sword
The Sword is the public face of the Court. A mysterious figure with an unexplainable charm. Within Konsearna, the Sword is the main judicial body and public presence. Seemingly able to duplicate at will, there are clones of the Sword seemingly everywhere and nowhere. If one looks for the Sword, they appear.
An eerie habit of the Court is their manner of reporting news and major happenings. All dense populations, domains and homesteads are greeted with a duplicate of the Sword, who shares tidings, then vanishes around the corner.
The Axe
The Axe signifies the warfront. They are a hulking mass, hard to ascertain what is armor, muscle or something else entirely? A fearless leader, they wield a massive Axe and shield. While on the battlefield, any damage they gain disappears as quickly. Oddly, whatever troops surround the Axe during an attack, suffer most casualties.
The Axe carries no visible scars or wounds, but their mask carries a large cleave in the middle.
The Sickle
The Sickle is the mysterious third part of the Court. In reality their appearance is unknown, although some witnesses and stories tell of a lanky quick figure. The Sickle represents the true surveillance of the Court, as it's a common myth that when one crosses the Court, the Sickle will appear. No matter the distance, no matter the destination. A short slash from their blade is all that is needed to silence any threat.
