The Union of Certified Bounty Hunters

"It's the kind of job my mother wish I didn't have."
— Mirabelle Raoul, certified bounty hunter

Structure

Elected from the membership are 9 members to serve on the Board of Directors for 3 year terms, a third of which are voted on each year.  The Board of Directors looks over the administrative offices, which in turn help manage the needs of members as well as solicit and distribute contracted missions out to individual members or groups of bounty hunters willing to work together.

Public Agenda

The Union of Certified Bounty Hunters aims to establish and standardized the quality of bounty hunters serving North America.  Not only a public face to the profession, the Union also serves the interests of its members.  This includes a large network of mission representatives helping to streamline inquiries for bounty hunters.

Assets

Although as with any professional organization the Union has a reserve of funds from membership dues, it is probably the least valuable asset in their control.  What serves the Union more is its network of not only skilled bounty hunters, but contacts collected over the year from previously contracted work and even retired bounty hunters.

History

The need for such a flexible profession grew late into the 21st century as corporate nations began having "international" strife between each other and the United States.  Bounty hunters represented a way to handle corporate issues that could easily become political incidents discreetly.  As bounty hunters became more relied on, they realized that even increasing their fees would not help cover all the external costs accrued by such a demanding career.
Nicholas Miller, a bounty hunter hailing from California, began the push to unionize the profession at large within the United States in the early 2100s.  It took over a decade for him to gain the proper internal support with his peers as well as external support from political leaders across North America.  The Union of Certified Bounty Hunters was first only based in the Western part of the United States, expanding their reach by 2144.  Through unique market tactics as well as some early partnerships with The Berman Company, the Union gained legitimacy within a couple short decades.
Currently the usefulness of the Union is acknowledge across most corporate nations, but not out loud.  The Union in turn insist that they're an apolitical organization that is merely about supporting independent contractors in one of the riskiest professions in the modern era.
