Sverdenland
Sverdenland was a region in the northwestern portion of Beurum, east of the Makovai Mountains, north of the Boundary Hills, and west of the Northern Commons. The land was traditionally occupied by the Sverden dwarves, who lent their name to the area.
Geography
Though much of the outlying portions of the Sverdenland were rugged and treacherous, the center mass of the region was largely fruitful. The Sommerval River, later combined with a series of Sverden canals known as the Millennium Waterway, made the inner valleys of the region excellent for farming. The geography of the region was heavily altered, however, upon the construction of the Vrelheim Dam at the start of the Fourth Era. The dam inadvertently was responsible for the Vrelheim Lakes, which overtook the city of Halvaderom within five years.
Sverdenland was home to a harsh climate that, during the height of winter, was extremely difficult for some non-dwarf races such as humans and elves to survive in. Biting winds from the Ether were a large reason for the region's frigidity. For this reason, Sverdenland was occupied by mostly dwarves despite Trebai desires to expand their territory. Nevertheless, summer temperatures were usually more relaxed, and thus the region saw an influx of nomadic herders and merchants at this time each year.
Natural Resources
Sverdenland harbored fruitful soil, unusual for its northern location. Crops such as potatoes, redroot, bareroot, breakroot, and carrots were often grown in the region. In addition, the region was home to the second-largest cattle-ranching industry in Beurum behind the Northern Commons.
