House of Tannous: The oldest and most powerful noble house of Samarra. In addition to its holdings throughout the city, it controls most of the bureaucracy and military of Samarra. The current head, Rael Tannous, is known as a hard and taciturn man and takes his role as Chief Judicator of the Marble Courts very seriously. Those who anger him find the law quickly turn against them whether they committed a crime or not. The House’s cliff side mansion is very near the Marble Courts and holds a commanding view of most of the city.
