House Lucious
The Lucius Family is a proud and noble family that can trace its roots centuries past the establishment of the Oroboro. Though once one of the most powerful houses on the continent, now lies in the shadows of nobility for its family curse of tainted blood.
Descendants of Crergint, a celestial warrior tasked with monitoring the Axis Wars, the house was once composed of Aasimar. They used their natural charismatic influence to spread their power wide and far to all regions of the continent, even crossing into royalty during past eras.
House Lucius grew its wealth with its merchantmen protected by heavenly warriors. They established outposts across the continent between their keeps that welcomed all travelers and promoted trade throughout the nations, despite any political changes.
That was before their heavenly influences in the mortal realm became tainted. When Crergint fell and took up arms with the demon Asmodeus, that taint echoed through their bloodline and can still be seen today in the first born of each generation now born a tiefling. With its heavenly influences gone, and demonic appearances, the house declined from favor. Routes became closed, keeps abandoned, and gold dissipated.
Today, the house sticks to the lesser noble courts of Samarra, far from any crowns and a mere shadow of what it used to be. Most of its wealth comes from the land baron rights it still retains outside the city of Samarra.
Assets
The Lucius house once spread across the continent establishing vast trade routes between grand outposts and keeps. When the house began to fall, it’s decline was rapid and in order to survive, many of its outposts and distant keeps were abandoned. What could be salvaged, was brought to its main keep outside Samarra.
Over the centuries, this last beacon of House Lucius and the surrounding lands, is all that remains of its glory days. It’s once intimidating walls and battlements adorned with golden crests, now lie bare and dark save for the few sentries who patrol its cold stone steps.
However, despite its fall from grace and distance from the light of the royal courts, the lands still under their care stay well cared for and fruitful. Though all may not appreciate their abyssal looking land barons, few would find reason to complain of their treatment.
Territories
House Lucius once ranged all over the continent and many of its abandoned keeps and outposts can still be found by wayward adventurers in the remote regions of the continents. However, its controlled wealth and resources of the house now lie in the region of Samarra, primarily in its land.
