Chasind Rings

Chasind Rings are given to allies of great importance to the crown or leader as a symbol of debt that must be repayed. They can be passed on from one family member to another until the debt is claimed. Refusal to honor a Chasind Ring forfeits the right to your own Chasind Ring and if not given up peacfully, will be taken by force from all who hold one.   A debt can be claimed in one of the following ways:
  • One Chasind can come to another, demanding the highest title of which an be given.
  • One Chasind can come to another, demanding the hand of the eldest unmarried son or daughter.
  • One Chasind can come to another, demanding aid in battle which must be fulfilled.
  • One Chasind can come to another, demanding a life owed which can be given in a duel.
After a Chasind Ring is fulfilled, it is destroyed by fire and cut in two. Chasind rings are made of pure brass and shaped into an arm ring with a figuredhead at the end of each side. Only Chasind Rings of the same figurehead can be fulfilled to each other.

Some leaders who have fulfilled Chasind Rings will take the broken rings and display them as badges of honor. This way all who see them know they keep their words.
