The continent

All the known world is contained within a great basin surrounded by tall black mountains. History of the distant past has been purged and what laid beyond the great mountain peaks has been lost to time. Although adventurous individuals every generation have come to pierce the veil of mystery, none have returned. But life still moves on with this cradle.   5 great kingdoms dominate this land, with dozens of city states that dot their borders. The ancient monarchies of Alicard and Brila, the guild governed lands of Niefhelm, the dictatorially ruled snow plains of Algos, and the newly reformed monarchy of Kar. For a thousand years the nations oversaw governance of what lands they managed to possess, great wars, quiet peace, mad rulers, and overthrown governments pepper the histories of these masters of the land.   But as dark rituals are cast, clandestine deals dealt, and primordial secrets uncovered, the once thought vast lands will become insignificant, great nations will become flooded in a sea of shadow and darkness. And mysteries will emerge from beyond and drown all in the name of a near forgotten horror.
