Nanocarbon
We don't know how to use it yet, but we expect it to be stopping bullets very soon. The Alliance needs a better armor for its soldiers.Nanocarbon is a material made of compressed and consequently dilated previously purified carbon through a complex process of machinery. It was first discovered when The Alliance was thriving to find an armor that could match or even outmatch the one that was being used by the Federation of Independent Systems. It was originally meant to be a very strong while flexible material, but ended up being a lot cheaper to make and a lot less strong than anticipated.
Chemistry
Nanocarbon is a Trial Carburant, meaning that it is technically a fuel, and it is made of both Carbon and Hydro(material) but it is very difficult for it to actually burn. The name trial comes from an ancient word for three but also from the word trial, meaning that its molecules have 3 carbons each and that it is in a "trial" by which it never burns.Creation
It is created by inducing an electric charge into a low density carbon block and later mix it with 2 blocks. Then the entire structure undergoes massive compression and decompression several times until the material is ready. After that, the resultant dust must be placed on the desired shape and heated up to 210º C, moment in which the material starts to melt. After that, the resultant shape will only be able to be changed by brute force, extreme pressures or reheating to 210º C, which is usually the most convenient one to do.History & Usage
Everyday use
Today it is used primarily in clothes making, transport bags, gun attachments, low-stress structures and glass-cleaning tools.
