Hyaku-Class Battlecruiser

The Hyaku-Class Battlecruisers, also known as the Hyakuru-class bulk cruiser, was a starship line built by the Honon Corporation. It saw service in the @[Grand Navy of the Alliance], both as a starfighter carrier and a mobile base of operations. The most notable member of the class was The Hya Battlecruiser, a ship that collapsed onto Yaith during the Colonies Revolution.

Propulsion

The class was propulsed by two large engine bays, located at the rear as per usual. These were both operated from the inside, having additional systems for being controlled directly from the bridge if necessary, altho the internal components such as the reactors and primary electric generators would be unaccessible in such case. Each engine bay contained three large ion thrusters, driven by two primary electric generators each, and having a backup electric generator each, sufficient for the operation of three cells. Later models also featured an additional horizontally-oriented engine bay with five thrusters. These bays were built onto the hull of the ship itself, and would be connected to the ship's internal electronic systems, reason why they would almost never have backup electricity generators.

Armor and defense

The ship class possesed alpha-type shields, with a stopping power of almost 12,000 VU generated from 3 shield generators on its hull. It was the first class produced by the Honon Corportation to have such a high stopping power for a vessel of a relatively medium size, which made for most of the defensive capabilities of the ship.

Communication Tools & Systems

Most long-range communication antennas were located in the nose of the ship, placing them very far from the reactors and thrusters, which gave the ship excellent communication capabilities at cost of exposing them to the enemy. These capabilities soon allowed the ship to gain a reputation in the fleet, soon being tried by admirals as command ship on skirmishes. Late models were modified to include additional arrays near the bridge and on the center of the shp's belly, which often served as backup if the main arrays were damaged. The class would eventually start to be modified for commissioning as forward operation centers and command posts.

Hangars & docked vessels

The class featured a small bay capable of holding between 8 and 24 starfighters, with numbers varying from model to model depending on the fighters being carried. During deployments, they would often carry no more than 2 squadrons of 6, allowing for some space in the hangar for small auxilliary and transport vessels.
