The Company of Woolers
The Company of Woolers oversees all the processes in Dayne-on-the-Loch regarding wool manufacture - from the raw baled wool through the final cloth, woven at numerous looms scattered in private homes throughout the city. Unlike many other guilds in Dayne-on-the-Loch, the Woolers primarily coordinate the activities of its members, who do not generally own their own means of production.
As one of the largest and most wealthy of the guilds, it is divided into smaller "syndics" that ensured guild quality standards are met and contracts were honored and fulfilled in a timely manner.
Originally a smaller guild known as the Worshipful Society of Clothiers and Dyers that dealt primarily with the import of raw cloth and the dyeing of said cloth, the Woolers expanded dramatically in power and scope as the population of Dayne grew dramatically during the Dark Era following the region being absorbed into the Weinland Empire after King Natan III of House Casteret swore fealty to King Riven of Wein at the Moot of Kings in 2997AE.
