Sarka
The Sarka are the People of the most northeastern lands bordering Onera. The Sarka are a wide ranging tribal people with a shamanistic religious culture based on a high reverence for nature. Many Sarka have integrated into Oneran culture, especially as many of their ancestral lands were colonized and conquered by the Onerans under the rule of Oneranus I. Sarka revere the native animals of the region, specifically the wolf, bear, rat, tiger, boar and bat, and the largest tribal groups associate their identities with one of these animals.

Ideals
Gender Ideals
There is no grand distinction between what clothing Sarkan males and females wear. Women in many tribes incorporate tattoos onto their bodies, just as men do.
Courtship Ideals
The custom of “earning a wife” has been preserved till date. The potential groom moves into the hut of the girl he likes (with her family's consent) and performs any work there required of him like a servant. Sometimes it can last for several years, until the bride agrees to marry, if at all. Paradoxically enough, during the service term, the potential husband and wife are free to indulge in sexual relations with each other without any cultural taboo.
Once a man decides that he has served long enough and won the sympathy of the potential bride, he offers to hold the gauntlet ritual.
The groom must reach the potential bride across an expanse of 100 strides, but he is obstructed by the bride’s female relatives (often dressed as vicious animals), who beat, bite, and scratch him. If the goal is reached, the bride gives an answer to his request for marriage.
