Norgarn (Nor-gahrn)

Norgarn is a vast and diverse region, stretching across approximately 554,000 square miles. It is characterized by its picturesque landscapes, ranging from the towering peaks of the Erenoir Mountains in the east to the majestic Braun Mountains in the south. The heart of Norgarn is adorned with the expansive and serene Kronen Lake, also known as the "Jewel of Norgarn." This freshwater lake spans 14,000 square miles, offering both scenic beauty and abundant resources.
Norgarn is a large country with varied terrain and landscapes. The southern region, which includes the Braun Mountains, is more mountainous with rolling hills and valleys. The Erenoir Mountains in the east are also mountainous and have many peaks and valleys, with a rugged and rocky terrain. The Hylimarch borderlands in the northwest have flatter plains, but are still dotted with hills and small mountains.
Central Norgarn, where the capital city Norganmere is located, sits on the eastern shore of Kronen Lake. The lake is a large freshwater body of water that provides ample water resources for the surrounding areas. To the northwest of Norgarn, the Altenweiler Lake in Hylimarch serves as a sort of border between the provinces.
The Logan River would be a major geographic feature of the region, running from the Hylimarche, through Central Norgarn and the Dunkelforst and out to the Heartlands before forming a broad delta with many channels and islands and providing water for irrigation, transportation, and other uses. Its tributaries from the Braun and Erenoir Mountains contribute to its flow and provide additional resources for the communities along its banks. The deep river valley also creates a natural barrier that in the past define the borders of many provinces.

Geography

However, as night falls and the darkness envelops the forest, the Noxblume undergoes a stunning transformation.Under the cover of darkness, the Noxblume opens its petals, revealing an exquisite display of bioluminescence. The flower emits a soft, ethereal glow, casting an otherworldly radiance in the gloomy forest. Its luminescent hues range from pale blues and greens to vibrant purples and pinks, captivating anyone fortunate enough to witness its nocturnal bloom.

Snowfall is common during the winter season, and the area can experience occasional blizzards.
The Erenoir Mountains and the Braun Mountains have a more alpine climate, with much colder temperatures and more snowfall. The summer temperatures here are usually around 50-59°F, and the winter temperatures can drop well below freezing.

History

The Latizan Empire, in its expansionist ambitions, attempted to conquer the Norgarn region. However, their progress was halted and ultimately met with formidable resistance when they encountered the enigmatic Dunkelforst. The dense and mysterious forest proved to be a significant obstacle for the Latizan forces. Its tangled undergrowth, shifting paths, and the nocturnal creatures that roamed within made it a treacherous and foreboding place. The Latizan soldiers found themselves disoriented and outmatched by the native inhabitants and the magical phenomena that seemed to emanate from the forest. As the Latizan forces pressed deeper into the Dunkelforst, they faced unexpected challenges. 
Eventually, the Latizan forces, battered and demoralized, withdrew from their attempts to conquer the Dunkelforst and the surrounding Heartlands. The forest had proven itself to be an impenetrable barrier, protecting the Heartlands and its people from outside domination.
Since then, the people of Norgarn have retained their independence and developed a strong sense of identity, shaped by their unique position at the edge of the Dunkelforst.
