Cobbodonyr

Cobbodonyr (A bastardized form of Cobboduna, or “Mountain Folk”) are the distant relatives of dragons, and cousins to Kobolds, and Daiduna of the mountains.

Physical Characteristics

Cobbodonyr are slim, short, reptilian humanoids with a draconic cast to their features. Cobbodonyr are shorter and slimmer than humans, standing just under 4 feet tall and averaging between 80-100 lbs. Their legs are digitigrade and their scaley skin comes in a variety of colors. Cobbodonyr have horns and other boney facial growths that solidifies their resemble to their mythic ancestors. Cobbodonyr also have whiplike tails and small talons. Their teeth are like a crocodiles, but smaller and less sharp. Female Cobbodonyr tend to have smaller horns and longer tails than their male counterparts.

Culture

Cobbodonyr are not nearly as numerous or widespread as their savage relatives, kobolds, and are much more organized. Having shaken the yoke of draconic slavery an eon ago, the Cobbodonyr are individualistic and driven by a desire to live on their own terms. In their society, there is little concentration of authority and most positions of authority that do exist are limited in scope and power, and these positions are rarely held in any permanence. Social bodies resolve disputes but predefined rules of behavior tend to be small. While this might suggest a chaotic or anarchic disposition, Cobbodonyr society has no rulers, and everybody enjoys equal status and hence some type of democracy.

Religion

Cobbodonyr are somewhat areligious and focused on the material world and living a long, good life. Cobbodonyr sometimes worship a manifestation of The Usurper called “Silazac, The Chainbreaker” as a sort of mythohistoric demigod that aided the Cobbodonyr in their escape from draconic enslavement.
