Burrunds

One of the unique phenomena left over from The Orilon War are Burrunds, small plateaus most with a broad sink-hole/lake in their center. The lakes in their centers feed many rivers in both Asena and Omwela. Notable burrunds include the Slandlyn in Asena and Nelendango and Keathai burrunds in Omwela, each of which feed rivers of the same name. But the largest is burrund is the one in which Tyet lies, known as The Eye Of Retphha, a vast circular lake which feeds The Tears of Retphha river, that the Nelendango merges with miles down the line. The origin of these burrunds likely dates back to the orilons, who once ruled much of Omwela and Asena; why and how they built them remains a mystery, but they radically reshaped both continents by creating new rivers and changing ecosystems.

Natural Resources

In the center of many burrunds, Ocharine can be found, generally in a pillar or column. The prominence varies upon the sinkhole's size, with many smaller ones barely breaking the surface of the water, while the largest, like The Eye Of Retphha's column -on which Tyet lies- stretches high into the air and is miles in diameter.
Some of the major burrunds not mentioned include the; Tulkhan gorge, located in Asena, which the city of kalrakkl encircles; the Englao and Slinio burrunds in Balos which each feed a river of the same name; Nollynen chasm in Helhekia; and the Shashn and Lerlyn burrunds in The Blue Valleys.
