Phane

The Great God of Life Phane (a.k.a. the Vibrant)

"In the realm of Phane, the god of life so bright, A radiant force, in the Deepest Dreaming's light. He battled with Kerro, goddess of the night, A feud of power, a celestial fight.   Phane, the bringer of life, so divine, His love for all living, a sacred sign. From death's cruel grasp, he did shine, Proving life's power, forever entwined.   In Phane's sacrifice, a story unfolds, Slain by Kerro, in tales of old. From his body, new life arose, In Phane's name, our gratitude flows.   Phane, the bringer of life, so divine, His love for all living, a sacred sign. From death's cruel grasp, he did shine, Proving life's power, forever entwined.   The City of Zilla, within Phane's embrace, Thrives in the dream, a wondrous place. Within his body, its people find grace, In Phane's love for life, we embrace.   Phane, the bringer of life, so divine, His love for all living, a sacred sign. From death's cruel grasp, he did shine, Proving life's power, forever entwined.   Supreme over death, in Phane's name we sing, In the Deepest Dreaming, his praises we bring. In life's eternal dance, his love takes wing, In Phane's embrace, our spirits take spring.   Phane, the bringer of life, so divine, His love for all living, a sacred sign. From death's cruel grasp, he did shine, Proving life's power, forever entwined.   So let us honor Phane, with hearts so pure, In his love for life, we shall endure. In Zilla's city, we are secure, For Phane's supremacy, we're forever sure.   Phane, the bringer of life, so divine, His love for all living, a sacred sign. From death's cruel grasp, he did shine, Proving life's power, forever entwined."   ~Canticles of Phane, Chapter Two

Tenets of Faith

**Embrace the Gift of Life:** Followers should appreciate and celebrate life in all its forms, recognizing it as a precious gift bestowed by Phane.   **Respect for All Living Beings:** Teachings should emphasize the importance of treating all living creatures with kindness and respect, promoting harmony and empathy.   **Reverence for Nature:** A deep connection with nature, as it embodies the essence of life, should be encouraged. Protecting and preserving the environment becomes a sacred duty.   **Belief in Resurrection and Renewal:** Central to the faith is the idea of renewal and rebirth, as exemplified by Phane's sacrifice. Followers should believe in the possibility of new beginnings and personal growth.   **Strive for Health and Well-being:** Promote practices that support physical, mental, and spiritual health to honor the gift of life. This could include exercise, healthy eating, meditation, and mindfulness.   **Community and Unity:** Encourage a sense of community among followers, where support and cooperation are essential. Unity embodies the strength of life.   **Embrace Change and Transformation:** Emphasize that life is an ever-changing journey, and personal growth is achieved through embracing change and transformation.   **Celebrate Life's Milestones:** Rituals and ceremonies to mark significant life events, such as birth, coming of age, marriage, and death, are important to acknowledge the cyclical nature of life.   **Service and Compassion:** Promote acts of kindness, service to others, and compassion as ways to express devotion to Phane and the principle of nurturing life.   **The Deepest Dreaming's Wisdom:** Teachings may include exploration of the Deepest Dreaming as a metaphor for the interconnectedness of life and its mysteries.   These tenets would help guide the followers of Phane in their devotion to life, reverence for nature, and celebration of renewal and growth.

Holidays

Holidays in the faith of Phane's Children are divided into two types: Personal and public.   Personal holidays involve parties that typically include gifts, music and dancing. They celebrate life milestones such as births, coming of age events, marriages, and so on.   Public holidays mark the passage of time. There is a holiday at the beginning of every month called a Quickening and every season (three months) begins with a Finidetta.    The beginning of the year is marked by the Celebration of Hope and the middle of the year is marked by the Festival of Fulfillment. Both of these celebrations are all-hands events with enormous public celebrations that involve dancing, romance, feasts, concerts, and for adults the consumption of alcohol and often romantic trysts ranging from chaste to wild.
