The soul is not a physical object, but a path we are meant to follow. Each of us walks the life our soul has lead us along all our lives, until we finally reach the end. The question is, what if we can alter the path?

Material Characteristics

When a soul thread manifests, it takes the shape of an ethereal arrow. The shape and color of the arrow itself is determined by the person or object it came from, but will always be one of the following colors: White, Black, Grey, Red, Green, Blue, Pink, Purple, or Yellow. The shape and direction of the arrow will sometimes be straight, curved, jagged, or take on some specific pattern depending on the person. The length and size of the arrow is, again, determined by its source. Individuals whom are extremely gifted, and/or have an exceedingly long life expectancy tend to have much longer Soul Threads than others.

Physical & Chemical Properties

A Soul Thread is the culmination of a thing or person's life force. For the greater population of the Universe, it is more a concept or myth, as its effects on life are rarely seen, and seeing one in the flesh even rarer. Soul Threads are thought to be the culmination of an entire person's lifespan, a fuel which each person uses unconsciously to continue living, and would consequently die if their Soul thread were ever cut short. An individual's Soul Thread will follow them from before their birth, to even after their death. It may be more accurate to say that one's Soul Thread is leading them, subtly affecting their life choices, personality, and a premonition of what their fate will be. 
Soul Threads do have practical uses, however. It is thought that the use of one's Soul Thread is how a Champion attains their power, using their own life force to manifest weapons and powers once locked away in their imagination. Individuals who are particularly in tune with their Soul Thread are able to even utilize its raw energy as an emergency defensive or offensive measure, using it to protect themselves in a life threatening situation, or enhancing the strength of their own attacks. 
Soul Threads can also have an effect on their immediate surroundings in various ways. Soul Pressure is a phenomenon where one can exert the power of their Soul Thread onto another individual, in order to increase the stress, anxiety, and physical exhaustion they feel o long as they are under its effects. Additionally, those who are especially in tune with a specific type of Soul Thread are able to manipulate the soul of other individuals and objects as if it were their own via the ability known as Hartz.

Although it is a known fact that all things within the Universe have some amount of Soul Thread within them, it is unknown how this Thread becomes a part of their being, or how it came to be. the most commonly accepted theory is the myth of The Fray, in which the entire Universe began as a single string that ultimately separated into nine types of thread, which when woven together can be used to create life.
