Dark Matter Spell in The Chronicle | World Anvil

Dark Matter

"There isn't a problem that my fists can't break through!"   -Monda, Planet Carnage

Effect

Dark Matter is an advanced combat technique that allows the user to break through any solid object, and in consequence, become near indestructible themselves. Through extreme vibration of an individual's limb(s) or weapon, it will begin to evaporate excess cells into the air, increasing the density of said limb or weapon exponentially. This increased density and extreme vibrations multiplies the destructive capabilities of the user many times over, effectively allowing them to demolish most solid objects with a single blow.    This technique can also be used on just the interior of a weapon or limb, increasing its durability, but not its destructive power. This comparatively easier version of Dark Matter allows the user to increase their defensive capabilities in an instant, allowing them to shrug off devastating or even fatal physical attacks like they were nothing.    As this is a technique that is learned or taught, it can be further trained to increase its effectiveness. There is, however, an upper limit to the destructive and defensive force this ability can apply.

Manifestation

When Imbued with Dark Matter, the affected regions will exude a black mist for the entirety of its duration, the remnants of the evaporated particles swirling around the source in an almost ghostly way. This is mostly cosmetic however, and the mist itself does not appear to have any negative or positive effects when made to come into contact with other individuals.
