High Shadow
High Shadow is what the residents of Lower Alto (inside the crater of New Crescendo) refer to as the period of time from around 11 AM to 1 PM (+/- 30 minutes in either direction depending on the time of the year and where you live). During this time, the floating island of Orchestria blocks out the sunlight from reaching the crater. Residents of Upper Alto (outside the crater) refer to High Shadow as well, though for them this time can be much more sporadic, from as early as 9 AM to as late as 3 PM, depending on where they live. For the most part, residents of Upper Alto experience a much shorter period of High Shadow than Lower Alto does, and some areas don't experience it at all.
During High Shadow, most residents stay indoors, as it gets to be quite dark out, and typically torches aren't lit during this time of day. High Shadow is known to be a time where a lot of crime of opportunity goes on in the streets.
