The Sack of Ormosahar

The first city to fall to Imperial Conquest. The force brought to bare was small, and none expected the swift and violent fall of the City Under the Boughs.

It was under a dark sky that the first herald came. Declaring the imminent arrival of the Lord of Shadow. He was a hooded man at the gates, and the counsul for the day had him turned away. A lone figure foretelling war and conquest was not to be taken seriously.   It was not 10 days later that the army appeared. Approaching from the south the host gathered at the base of the hill upon which Ormosahar is built. The city was recently ascendant in the politics of the Shadowlands, and mustered her forces. They outnumbered the invaders 2 to 1, but the invaders had new weapons and armor, stronger than the bronze swords armor of the defenders.   The city's defenders retreated behind the walls, tall and strong. The Consortium provided healing and debated becoming involved directly, but the question was proven moot, as on the 3rd day the Lord of Shadow closed his fist, and broke the gate and tore down the wall.   The city was punished for their resistance. Its goods were sacked, its palaces burned. And the statue of Makelde was removed, and eventually found its home in the rebuilt Capitol.
