A fort built in a day

40th of Leaf-Fall, 5th year of Awakening

We finally had to move. Just like Darius predicted, the part of the higher layer broke off and contaminated our drinking water with some substances.
Sadly, we discovered it after the old man Ernest drank it. He didn't suffer long.
Right now it's not that bad, but we really should find a new source of water fast.

42nd of Leaf-Fall, 5th year of Awakening

Something follows us.
Scouts reported that they have seen some movement during the last two nights. Right now it only observes us, but the surrounding area is an open field, so we don't have a place to hide during sleep.

43rd of Leaf-Fall, 5th year of Awakening

It killed Yuri.
In the middle of the night, everyone has been woken up by his screams as he was dragged away into darkness.
We could see a forest in the distance.

45th of Leaf-Fall, 5th year of Awakening

We finally reached the forest.
Sadly, we lost many more during the previous two nights. There's many more than just that one creature, whatever it is.
Darius came up with an idea. It is crazy, but that's the only thing that could save us.
We have to build a fort, as quickly as possible, otherwise, the others will die.
Still, we could die, either way - our water supply is almost gone.

46th of Leaf-Fall, 5th year of Awakening

We somehow made it!
Not only we built it in one day, no one died that night.
Still, in the morning, Ian and Peter found claw marks on the walls of our fort. Judging by them, the creature's claws were 30cm long!
P.S. Later today Peter found a river in the woods. We will survive!
