Dark Elf

Dark Elves are a subrace of elven people which derive from their underground counterparts, Drow. While there isn't much distinction between Drow and Dark Elves from a physical perspective, a morality perspective has grown a divide and thus a distinction has been made between the two subraces of elves. Dark Elves are the surface dwelling counterparts to Drow, who are exclusively known to live in the Underdark.
Dark Elves have mostly ridding themselves of their natural sensitivity to sunlight, unlike their drow counterparts who still are sensitive to the light. While a dark elf still much prefers the night, shade, and cloudy weather, they can withstand direct sunlight if needed.
It is still common for those who look upon the dark elves to call them drow, which is considered a racial slur to most Dark Elves.
