The hierarchy of the Crusaders mirrors that of a military organization, however is fairly condensed:
- Squire
- Apprentice Knight
- Knight
- Sergeant
- Lieutenant
- Commander
- Lord Commander
Squire
Squires are assistants to Commanders of the order, and were often recruits in training under them. Crusaders often recruited squires from volunteers to Noble families of Demaga having a tradition of service in the Crusaders. There is also a tradition of recruiting orphans as squires to the Order. They will serve as a squire from young ages all the way till young adulthood, when a squire is able to dawn armor, wield a weapon, and ride a horse. Until then, they will mostly serve as support to the Order, cooking, cleaning, and studying.
Apprentice Knight
Apprentice Knights are a rank above squires, in which a squire is now able to perform the basic duties of a Knight under the watch of a Sergeant. They often are introduced to their first expeditions and field missions in this rank, but will still spend a large amount of time training in one of the Order Halls in Demaga. They also serve as leaders to the squires in their support tasks, directing them and organizing them during tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Knight
After conducting a fair amount of faithful service as an Apprentice Knight, the Commanders above them will initiate the Crucible, a ceremony of Knightly events that act as trials to prove the Apprentice is ready to take on the responsibilities as a knight. Once they succeed, they are taken to the Knighting Ceremony at the Order Hall in Layent, where the Lord Commander blesses and aniots them with the title and rank. Once a member becomes a Knight, they are a member of the order until they retire, are discharged, or die.
Sergeant
Once a Knight serves for five years, they are automatically enrolled in the Officer's Corps of the Crusaders and become a Sergeant. A Sergeant is responsible for a group of Knights below them, and the training of Apprentice Knights.
Lieutenant
After five years of serving as a Sergeant, the Officer Corps promotes them to Lieutenant and sends them to the Demagan Military Officer's Academy. A Lieutenant is in charge of multiple groups of Knights, and administer the Crucible Trials to Apprentice Knights.
Commander
The standard highest rank achievable by members of the order, a Commander undergoes training by the Lord Commander and is instituted as an official member of the Demagan Royal Military, who can act as a commanding officer of not only Knights but also imperial military units and the Crowns Guard during emergencies.
Lord Commander
Lord Commander, sometimes referred to as a Grand Master of the Order, is a title granted to the highest level of leader in the Crusaders of Rasa. This person is charged with the leadership roles and responsibilities, and is an official title granted by the Righteous Order and the Priests over the Sanctum of Rasa.
