Jarl Haesten (a.k.a. Alsting)

An ambitious Viking Sea King, in 859 AD he accompanied Bjorn Ironside on his famous expedition to the Mediterranean. With his bloodsworn thanes, he spent years raiding both Frank and Breton, before finally joining with Salomon at the Battle of Brissarthe in 866. There, in single combat, Haesten slew the famed Robert the Strong. A brilliant strategist and battlefield terrain master. Almost as legendary are this Dane's greed and lust for power and wealth.
