Terror Wolves

Terror Wolves are giant wolves inhabiting the wilderness of Haven.

Description

Terror wolves are large, black-furred wolves that are native to Haven, being perfectly adapted to its harsh climate.
They are far more aggressive than normal wolves, as well as very territorial. They keep wide hunting ranges and do not tolerate other large predators in their hunting grounds. They only reluctantly migrate if food becomes sparse or if a alrger predator, such as a Dragon.

Hearts of Fire

The hearts of Terror wolves are infused with elemental fire, which keeps them warm in any weather. Even in the depths of winter a terror wolf has to not fear the cold, for their heart will preserve them. They can even channel this fire into their fangs and claws to an extent, and spit fire, though they can not do this very often or suffer severe exhaustion.

Hunting strategy

Terror wolves are very territorial, so they can be avoided entirely if one pays attention to the markings they leave at the borders of their territory.
Apart from that, terror wolves are much like normal wolves, just larger, stronger and faster. They also posess an animal cunning, and many have been surprised by a terror wolf's cleverness.
One should prepare to treat the burn wounds caused by their bite and breath

Terror wolves are likely to attempt retreat if victory seems unfeasible and will fight ferociously if cornered. They will however fight to the death if they are defending their den or their young.

Appearance

Terror wolves are black furred wolves that stand as tall at the shoulder as a grown man.
They have faintly glowing throats and eyes, and some older wolves may have sparks and embers drip from their mouthes when they are enraged.
