Starmetal

Mirthil is a shining white, lightweight metal found all across the Multiverse.

Description:
Starmetal is of silver to white color and lighter than steel while being sturdy and flexible enough to be a viable replacement. It also does not tarnish or rust.
Starmetal is named such because its ore looks like chunks of the night sky: black with dots of gleaming light speckled throughout.

Creation:
Starmetal is exceedingly rare and notoriously difficult to work with. Only mined from deep within the earth or gathered from pockets where elemental air and rock meet in just the right way, starmetal ore is difficult to obtain. It is more difficult still to find a smith capable of working the ore into shape without turning the somewhat fragile material into useless slag.
Starmetal is expensive, and Starmetal items more so.

Use:
Starmetal armors and weapons are very light in comparison to steel weapons of the same make. They can thus be worn more easily without exhausting the user.
Starmetal armor grants some defenses against magical energies. Meanwhile starmetal weapons make a great basis for creating magical items.

Starmetal is one of the favored materials used by the Sidhe.
