The Serpent of the Bloom
Venomthorn, known as the Serpent of the Bloom, is a fearsome predator whose very appearance strikes terror into those who catch sight of it. With a serpentine body covered in scales that resemble hardened bark and thorny vines, Venomthorn’s form melds the characteristics of dragon and plant in a dreadful fusion. Its green, toxic eyes glimmer with an unnatural intelligence, and its wings, though leathery, are marbled with mossy patterns and veins of fungal growth that pulse faintly as it moves. At the end of its long, sinuous tail is a deadly stinger capable of delivering lethal doses of potent Bloom-infused venom, while sharp, twisting horns crown its head like wicked branches reaching for the sky.

Poison Breath: Venomthorn’s most feared weapon is its poison breath. This noxious gas is a swirling mist of corrosive toxins that can melt flesh and corrode metal in moments. When unleashed, the gas envelops its target in a sickly green cloud, leaving devastation in its wake. Many a warrior and adventurer have been reduced to skeletal remains under the assault of Venomthorn’s toxic breath, and entire buildings have been found warped and decayed where it has passed.
Flight: Venomthorn's mastery of the skies makes it a formidable and elusive foe. Its agile, silent flight allows it to swoop down on targets from above, often striking with poison before vanishing into the clouds or dense foliage. Villagers and city ship residents have learned to recognize the quiet, ominous shadow that precedes a Venomthorn attack and to seek shelter from its aerial assaults.
Tail Strike: With a whip of its powerful tail, Venomthorn can strike with precision, delivering lethal doses of poison directly into its prey. This Bloom-infused venom works swiftly, paralyzing its victims before the poison spreads, dissolving their internal organs and leaving only corrupted remains.

It is said that Venomthorn was once a noble Empyreal Dragon—a guardian of the skies and protector of life, perhaps one of the last defenders against the Bloom’s relentless spread. Legends claim that this dragon once healed the land with its radiant breath, driving back forces of decay with a celestial light. But after a fateful encounter with the Bloom, the dragon fell to its corruptive influence, twisted into the creature of death and destruction that haunts the land today.
Now, Venomthorn is known for its cunning, elusive nature, favoring hit-and-run tactics that frustrate those who attempt to slay it. It has razed both isolated villages and the high towers of city ships, leaving a desolate path of corruption. Hunters and soldiers who have faced it speak of a shrewd intelligence, one that may even harbor memories of its former life as a creature of purity and light, though these memories only add to its cunning malice.
Despite the best efforts of BRASC and various guilds, Venomthorn remains at large, its poison trailing through the sky like the mark of a blighted storm.
