The Water Weird Crystals

Describe a historically significant piece of jewelry in your world. What stories does it carry?   The Water Weird Crystals are the most revered spiritual relics of the Odon tribes.   A set of 12 deep, icy blue, uncut crystals. Their unique crystalline structures makes them appear as droplets of water which shimmer with moisture on the inside. Each crystal is held in a silver facet, attached to a segmented silver chain. The segments of the chain are detachable, so that each crystal facet can be individually removed.   The Crystals were discovered high up in the Odon mountain range, past the low hanging clouds that surround the peaks. This is where the source of the Odon Flows sits. The peaks of the mountains are largely flat and terraced creating frozen pools which feed the many streams lining the mountain slopes.   The first tribe of Firbolg to settle the mountains explored the peaks early on after settling there. They discovered the frozen pools on one of the highest peaks. Sitting at the bottom of the pool they found the crystals.   The tribe believes the crystals to be remnants of the first tears shed by Odani and Omani at the sight of the woes in the world.   The Crystals are used as a sign of office for the Unified Chieftain of the Odon tribes, to perform tribal rituals, and to declare votes during tribal councils.   During Tribal Council, 12 representative are chosen from the leading tribes. During each Council meeting the tears are distributed to the chosen leaders and are used to cast votes on tribal matters. As a sign of unity in the decisions.   Each individual crystal can be used to create a new, temporary Flow that is not local to the Odon Mountains. Take one or more of the crystals to a pool of water, above a certain altitude, and leave the crystal in the pool for 24 hours. After 24 hours, and for as long as the crystal remains in the pool, the water flowing from the pool will have the same cleansing power as those of the Odon Flows themselves.   The Odon have used this aspect of the Crystals to bring the cleansing power of the Flows to places of strife and anguish across the world. When the Tribal Council hears of a great amount of strife or anguish in the world they meet and decide whether or not to send aid. Through this process the Crystals, individually and as a whole, have born witness to many conflicts and disasters throughout history.   The Council decided to send a Chief with one of the Crystals to the city of Dumai. The city was besieged by demons during the events of a Portal Break in the region. The Chieftains decided to setup at a nearby mountain outside of the city and provided those who were displaced or fleeing the siege refuge. The demons brought a great amount of physical and magical corruption along with them and the work of the Chief and his people were integral in saving the people of the city once the siege was broken.   At one time a Chieftain heard that his ancestral land was in need of help. Against the councils wishes, the chieftain by the name of Morsgu, spirited away one of the Crystals to help the people of the U'ngier Flats. The people were experiencing extreme droughts and fire storms. The Chieftain brought his Crystal to the U'ngier Flats and attempted to fight the drought with it. He was successful for a time, but one particularly powerful fire storm overwhelmed him and his entourage. They were forced to free their ritual site, leaving the crystal behind, and the Fire Storm came into conflict with the Flow created by the Crystal. The clash of powers caused the fire storm to become locked in place, remaining active for several years. This caused the landscape around the Flow site to be destroyed and left a permanent molten crater, scarring the land. It would take several years for the Odon to retrieve this Crystal. Morsgu would be exiled from the Tribes and the years would be known to the Odon as the Years of Broken Council. Unanimous decisions were hard to come by and the Tribe had difficulty adjusting to the omen of the crystals disappearance.   Upon retrieving the missing Crystal the Tribe would become very stingy with its assistance in the following years. The Tribes would help more of the people who came to their lands, but they were hesitant to send out assistance. This would cause a great amount of strain on the diplomatic relationships between other peoples and the tribes.
