Curses Teacher Alfleta Bexely
Alfleta Bexely was a vampire who fought alongside of Fate's Bane during the events of Campaign 1: Fate's Warriors. She later joined the Rowthorn University of Magic and Mayhem as a curses teacher until her death in 36.
Alfleta had a rough life, dying at a young age made her desperate enough to deal with the devil to return her back to life. After weeks of negotiating, Alfleta thought the deal was foolproof and straightforward, leaving but one fatal flaw: the method of resurrection. She awoke in her own grave, dug out from beneath the earth, and turned into a vampire.
She witnessed the horrors of these individuals and chose to betray them, leaving her once again alone in a cold and cruel world. She walked the earth during the night and sheltered under trees during the day. She eventually made it to Aekminur, a place where new ideas and people were more than welcomed. Including her.
During her time there she used the small fortune stolen from her previous vampire group to build a mansion. She stayed there happily for a decade until a clone of herself found and captured her. The clone had furthered the city's trust in her to the point of leadership and eventually grabbed another prisoner with her. Once freed she was told that the clone was controlled by Lady Fate and was saved by Fate's Bane.
Arceaus Longthorn, a vampire she was forced to create, convinced her to join Fate's Bane and defeat Lady Fate. With her mansion destroyed and nowhere else to go, she agreed. She had fun with the group- fighting devils and angels alike, all sorts of evil creatures fell to their quest to save the Barren. That led to her second death, the maw of a great white dragon had begun to clamp towards Arceaus, Alfleta pushing him aside and being torn in half as consequence.
Her parasite had saved her, but only her top half. She was later recovered by the Silvered Daggers and brought back to Aekminur where she had been given a mechanical torso made to keep her top and lower halves connected, as well as securing her life.
She was recruited by Arceaus after the events of Campaign 1: Fate's Warriors to be a curses teacher at a school he and Sir Rowland were creating. That school was her true home, nowhere had she felt more comfortable as herself than there in those walls, and when she saw a student being treated as a pitiful freak, she offered to be his mentor.
She was later given a message from a long-missing Arceaus, asking her to investigate a small whale statue that had been sent to the port city of Glesa. She brought her apprentice along, Asketil, to uncover what Arceaus was concerned about. While there, she was killed by a member of the Golden Society and in order to save Asketil's life, transferred her parasite to him.
