The Rat Prince

I have lots of friends. Lots of very hungry friends. And they don't like you.
The Rat Prince and his hundreds of eyes and ears have been a thorn in the side of any shady dealer attempting to use The Slats as a place to conduct business. Supposedly, the Rat Prince can hear and see through the eyes of any vermin throughout the city. This rumored ability is both his bane and his boon. While he acts as an informant for some, there are plenty of other miscreants in the city who’d rather see the Rat Prince dead instead of gathering secrets for both sides of a conflict.   Standing at a towering 2’11”, and clocking in at just over 50lbs, the permanently disheveled Prince is a pocket-sized pauper of roughly adolescent age. Though not even the Prince himself remembers how many Greyport winters he’s endured. He’s less an information broker and more of a whispermonger - he lacks the experience to really contextualize most of the things he hears. That being said, the sheer volume of shady dealings he overhears in his parts of the city almost guarantee at least a few nuggets of value. The footpads of the other families often wander into the Slats to arrange meetings with the Prince, just to get a rundown on all of the junk-drawer happenings that his vermin scouts have overheard.   The Rat Prince makes his home in an old watchtower at the far south end of the city, on the outskirts of the Slats, though he has dozens of perches, burrows, and sanctuaries hidden throughout the Slats themselves. With many of that District’s housing burned, collapsed, or abandoned, it’s not hard to find a hidden room, apartment, or basement far from prying eyes.   Lately, the Rat Prince has been under threat from the Bootstrappers - likely over something he overheard, or rather, something the Family thinks he might have overheard. Siding with the Loose Ends for protection (and because they were nice to him), he’s currently holed up in one of their safe houses near Brewar’s Row along with the Alchemist.
