A secret clade of a criminal assassins, the Serpentine began as the servants of the tyrant Dynasty King Malciodis. Unquestioningly loyal, he used them to eliminate his political opponents based on his own techniques which typically involved daggers and poisons. After his death and the collapse of his authority, the Serpentine attempted to institute their own power over Thripia and were opposed on many occasions by the Orcarous Guard and later, after the rule of Malciodis' son Xartses, the Cabal of the Black. They eventually transitioned into mercenary killings and became hired assassins, famous for their ruthlessness, efficiency and amorality.
