Laern is a 15-year-old Human Vampire living under the care of Lord Orlon Carvin. Despite his vampiric nature, Laern is simple, gentle, and deeply loyal to his family, often acting as a calming presence in the mansion. He has a close bond with his pet rat, Tiny, who is his constant companion and a source of comfort. Though often underestimated due to his quiet demeanor, Laern has a surprising knack for navigating tense situations with his unwavering kindness.
Early Life
Laern was born to a poor farming family in the town of Nornton. His life was one of quiet labor, tending crops and caring for animals alongside his parents and siblings. Laern’s gentle and caring nature made him beloved in the village, where he was often seen with a rat perched on his shoulder—a pet he affectionately named Tiny.
When Laern was 15, yet another wave of dark magic swept through Nornton, leaving death and despair in its wake. Laern was struck by the curse but survived, his family succumbed to the dark magic. Isolated and afraid, he wandered aimlessly until Lord Carvin found him and brought him to the mansion, offering him a chance at a new life.
Life in Carvin’s Mansion
Laern quickly adapted to life in Carvin’s mansion, finding solace in the family dynamic despite its eccentricities. His took his pet rat, Tiny and he remains fiercely protective of the small creature, often tucking it into his hood or carrying it on his shoulder.

The original Tiny died years ago, but Laern replaces the rat each time it dies, naming the new one "Tiny" every time.
