Victory over Stonegard
THE FIRE OF HOPE - The dust has settled over Stonegard, and the sky-sea mourns the fallen. The once proud city of Stonegard lies in smoldering ruin, a testament to the brutal clash that forever changed the landscape of power in Yrdde. The Battle of Stonegard, a bloody conflict that saw the Sanctum Alliance victorious against the seemingly invincible Tervalkyre Empire, has left the world reeling, caught between the hope of a new era and the chilling uncertainty of what lies ahead. The Emperor, once a symbol of absolute power and authority, is dead. Slain by a contingent of Elysian Guard during the battle's final moments, his demise sent shockwaves through the ranks of the Imperial military, ultimately leading to their retreat. The shock of the Emperor's death has rippled across the Empire, shaking the very foundations of its political and religious structures. The Imperial Council, composed of the Empire’s wealthiest corporations, has been thrust into disarray, each vying for control and scrambling to establish a new order. While the Emperor's son and sole heir, Lucien Thorne, is of age to take his father's place, there is much to be gained or lost in the weeks it will take for this new Emperor to regain control. Meanwhile, in Sanctum, jubilant celebrations erupt as news of the victory spreads. The death of the Emperor is seen as a sign of Elysia's favor, and possibly even a harbinger of the Sleeping Savior’s imminent awakening. However, even amidst the victory celebrations, a sense of apprehension hangs in the air. Many in Sanctum are wary of pushing their advantage too far, fearful of provoking a desperate counterattack from a wounded, but still dangerous, Empire.

Tentative Peace
A delegation from Sanctum, led by the High Elysian, has arrived in the neutral city of Nivora, ready to begin the arduous process of negotiating a peace treaty with Imperial representatives. The early negotiations have been fraught with tension. While Sanctum demands recognition of their independence and the release of prisoners of war, the Imperial Council seeks to retain control over their core territories and maintain some semblance of order. The Nivora Trade Union, in its role as mediator, faces an immense challenge in brokering a lasting peace. They must navigate the conflicting demands of two powers, while also considering the interests of the Free States and the potential ripple effects on the wider world. The fact that many Free State captains took part in the battle on the side of the Alliance has not slipped the attention of either side. Some Imperial parties have laid part of the blame of their defeat upon these captains, and it is not yet known if sanctions will be placed upon them in the future. Whispers and rumors fill the taverns and markets of Yrdde. Some believe this is the beginning of a new era, a chance for lasting peace and cooperation. Others fear that the death of the Emperor will plunge the world into further chaos, as ambitious warlords and factions vie for power in the absence of a unifying force. Only time will tell what the true consequences of the Battle of Stonegard will be, but one thing is certain: the world of Yrdde will never be the same.
